Oz Chambers has a wonderful secret; an artefact of astonishing power gifted to him by his dead father. The kind that makes the year eight science competition a hands-down walkover thanks to the artefact’s genius avatar.
But there are sinister forces abroad who will stop at nothing to get their hands on such power, and when fellow pupils start being attacked, Oz finds himself in very hot water. Soon, he and his friend are caught up in a centuries old mystery involving a missing ring, lava toothpaste and a murderous monster known as the Beast of Seabourne.
Thrills and spills come from all directions in this mystery-solving second book in the Artefact series.

Reviews for The Beast of Seabourne
Magic realism to delight the soul, adventures to keep the pages a-turning, and characters that continue to speak to the reader long after the book is finished—The Beast of Seabourne has all of these. Highly recommended! – 5* Goodreads review
The rare sequel that’s better than the original. I can’t wait for the third book. – 5* Goodreads review
What was really great about the characters was their relationship with one another. It doesn’t matter where the issues arise, this group of friends are there for each other in a way you don’t always find at that age. It’s good to have a friend(s) that can be there like they are in every situation, just as they are.
Overall I give this book 5/5 for it’s magic, adventure, thrill, and mystery aspects that mix and blend well in the plot. – 5* Amazon review
I’d recommend The Beast of Seaborne to readers who like fantasy thats full of magic and possibility, and where ordinary life clashes up against the otherworldly. – 4* Amazon review
While it is a word that is steeped in magic, that isn’t where the central issues lie as it really all boils down to humanity and the problems we all go through. It is this grounded realism in a fantastic world that really help make the book as strong as it is. From friendships to money problems to school – everything is on the table and covered well. – 5* Amazon review
I look forward to reading the next instalment in this series, because I want to find out what kind of a new adventures await Oz and his friends. I’m sure that all readers who enjoyed reading this book and the previous book will be eagerly waiting for the next book. – 4* Amazon review
