The Cunning Clarion – July 2012
“News for the discerning wise man or woman. Straight from the soothsayers mouth.”
Confirmed sightings of underworld creatures near one of Edinburgh’s most famous cave systems–Gilmerton cove–has local Keepers on alert. At least 2 credible witnesses have reported Nuckalavee on the surface over the last month. Mungo Borage-Doone, Edinburgh’s senior Keeper can offer no explanation for this unprecedented behaviour.
“These are usually very solitary creatures. It’s difficult to know what exactly might have brought such a thing to the surface. Their normal habitat is sea lochs and there is usually plenty of prey thereabouts without the need for straying into the city. Maybe one of them has got a wee bit lost”
When asked if there might be a more sinister reason, Borage-Doone seemed cautious.
“There’s always a chance that someone of something has stirred this one up. They can be summoned to do dark biding. But it is difficult to believe that anyone can be that desperate.”
His message to the public?
